Donate To The Persian HCM Fund

As we celebrate the holiday season, let's consider adding another name to our gift list . . . Please think about donating to the research to find a DNA test for HCM in Persian cats.

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a progressive heart disease in which the heart becomes thickened, eventually leading to congestive heart failure. Although HCM can be an "old age" disease, a hereditary form can occur in young cats, often but not exclusively between the ages of 6 months to 3 years.

Together we can help support research into finding a DNA test for this hereditary form of HCM in our beloved Persians and Exotic Shorthairs.

The WINN Feline Foundation has established a separate fund to support research into HCM in Persian cats. It is appropriately called the Persian HCM Fund.

Here's how to make a donation:

  1. Go to the Winn site:
  2. Click on Donate Now to Help Cats!
  3. Click on Use our secure online donation system
  4. From the drop-down menu " How would you like your funds used?", Choose:  I would like to use a specific purpose for this donation.
  5. For "Specific Purpose", select: Persian HCM Fund

Winn will send those who donate to the fund an email acknowledgment and a mailed receipt for their tax records as it is tax deductible.

When you make a donation, WINN will sent you their electronic newsletter. Just subscribe to their newsletter mailing list and it be delivered to your e-mail box.

Enjoy your holidays and be part of the effort to help find a DNA test for HCM in Persian cats.
